At WestWind Farms, young horses grow and learn in a quiet, relaxed environment. There is no specific rule or method that fits all horses. In general, horses are saddled and taught to longe and be ground driven before being backed. This allows for a more clear understanding of aids and impulsion as well as establishing a strong work ethic in a confident horse. Our recommendation for a proper foundation is a 2-3 month stay at WestWind Farms.

Groundwork - Day 3

After 90 days of training, you will have a healthy, confident, relaxed horse that will be soft,supple and forward in the ring and hacking out alone and with others on and off the property. Every horse will have an individual training program specific to his or her needs and the goals of the owner.

Under Saddle - Week 3
     

Westwind Fams also has experience in most western events and has worked with every type of horse from the un-touched ranch horse to the world-class sport horse. They will also evaluate and train your difficult or problem horses. Their work is guaranteed and references are available.

Starting and Training offered at $1,200 per month ($1,500 for stallions). Special rates are offered for breeders and multiple horses. Monthly updates of pictures and video/DVD by request.
